Essential Ferret Services is a 501(c)3, Federal non-profit, no-kill shelter located in Caldwell, Idaho that was founded in 2001. Although we are located in Caldwell, we rescue ferrets from all over Eastern Oregon and Western Idaho, including Boise, Nampa, Eagle, Meridian, Emmett, McCall, Homedale, Weiser and many other cities.Call to schedule an appointment.

We're the only 501(c)3 ferret-specific shelter in Idaho. Formerly the Emmett Ferret Shelter. Our Mission is Ferret adoption, rescue, and education. we were founded in November, 2001 as Emmett Ferret Shelter, 501(c)3 awarded in April 2004, and became Essential Ferret Services of Idaho January 10, 2010. We adopt out, shelter, and rescue domestic ferrets and cover the Southern Idaho and Eastern Oregon areas. Adoptable ferrets available all the time by appointment.

We are centrally located in Idaho’s Blaine County, approximately 1 ½ miles west of Hailey in Croy Creek Canyon. From downtown Hailey, turn west on Bullion Street, continue past the Wood River crossing and find us on the right side of the road.
